Milwaukee, Wis. — On March 27th, the Women in Aviation’s Southeastern Wisconsin chapter sponsored an aviation education day at the Waukesha County Airport.  200 adults and youth attended to learn about careers in aviation for young men and women.   Families traveled as far away as Sheboygan County to attend the event.  The event featured: 

  1. Flying Cessna airplanes on flight simulators and designing LEGO® EV3 robot programs to traverse a course. Staff from DoD STARBASE Wisconsin provided the STEM kit demonstrations.
  2. Viewing restored historic military aircraft from the Commemorative Air Force.
  3. Winning aviation opportunities such as an introductory flight in a small airplane.
  4. Driving biplanes pedal cars built for kids.

Awarding winners of the Aviation Art contest sponsored by the Department of Transportation – Aeronautics Bureau.
